Chris is back and we are in the midst of ACL Fest..er, well he is.  I may go tomorrow.  So I have been busy and just trying to chill in the evening and keep the house in some semblance of sane order.  I have had thoughts out the frickin’ wazoo and these days the only person I get to share them with is Chris.  Of course, he could probably give a rat’s behind about my ever-evolving philosophy on motherhood (when I can even describe it), the inner work I am doing, our kids and my fears about the environment.  Maybe he just hears it all too much.

At some point, I need to get on here early in the night when I have the energy and focus to post something halfway intelligible.  I have had some cool thoughts and revelations lately..judged by me anyway.

I will try to get more pics up and updates out.  For now, I am just looking forward to this last crazy week and a half to be over.  I love routine and predictability!

Chris is in Montana for 6 nights!  We are almost halfway through.  It has been interesting to say the least and definitely a lot of growth opportunities available for me.  

In crazy times like this, it is so nice to have an hour to escape compliments of a friend.  It was nice to feel like a girl gabbing with her friend sipping wine and comparing chocolate ice creams!

Ahhh…and so now I will cozy up in a wine-induced snooze not at all stressed about what the night may or may not deliver.

A nice recharge.  To reinterate..friends rule!

Twice today we went out to play in the aftermath of a rainstorm only to end up playing IN the rain.  It was so fun!!   I remember only a year ago I used to send Tyler out to the backyard to play in the rain, but I would stay inside.  Wow, how I have changed so much this year.  

Now, we go out to the front and play.  We are “lucky” that are street is such that a decent rain will produce a decent sized stream running down the curb.  So Tyler likes to pick up “boats” (leaves) and set them free in the stream so they can head on an “adventure”. 

Quinn takes her push-walker and goes for a stroll in the stream taking advantage of driveways to alternate sidewalk and stream.  Every once in a while she will try to head out into the street to see if I am paying attention.

We come inside, get snuggly dry and the kids play happily for a spell, their thirst for excitement and adventure quenched for the moment.  

And a smile of Mommy’s face when Tyler tells his Daddy he had a “good day” and in response to the common “what did you do today?” question, says “played in the rain”.
