I don’t think I blogged about this, but it is so cute and I don’t want to forget. About two weeks ago, Chris started singing the Bare Naked Ladies “L” song. There is a part at the end of a verse where they sing “la, la, la, la lumps in my oatmeal”. Tyler will chime in and say “oatmeal”. Then there is this crecendo and climax where they sing “la, la, la linoleum”. And Tyler will chime in with “linoleum”. At the end they sing “so why don’t you la, la, la, la, la with meeeeeee!” And Tyler belts out a “meeeee”. I LOVE it. Now he asks for the song signing/saying “more” and “la, la, la”, . It is so funny – totally cracks me up!!

Tonight I was holding my sleeping Boo tightly in my arms. He looked so peaceful. I thought about all the cute things he does and the beautiful innocence he has about him as he waves hello and says goodbye to things and people. Suddenly I thought of all the evils out there in the world and how destroyed I would feel if any of them befell my child. I couldn’t bare the thought of my child in fear or scared and wondering where his mama was. I realize as my child gets older that I will have to let go and let him out into the world. I have to know that I can’t control everything. But for now I can appreciate the beautiful innocence about my son and the protective, safe, nurturing cocoon I can provide. I also have to keep my fears to myself and not let them transfer to him. In time he will learn about the world, but not yet.

So Tyler grabbed a beer can that Chris was drinking out of and spilled beer all over himself. It is interesting to nurse you son while he reaks of beer…..

OK, I am exhausted. In fact, I will be joining Tyler in taking a nap as soon as I finish posting this (well, and throwing a load of clothes in the washer), so I will make it brief. Tyler will be in San Antonio this weekend to attend a 1 year-old birthday party of my Mom’s best friend’s grandaughter and a close friend of our family’s (the friend, not the grandaughter.. :-p). Anyway, I plan to exhaust myself with one last push to get some nesting activities done and get my house back in shape. After this weekend, I am done. Back to the normal routine – no projects, just my normal day to day chores. I know me and I LOVE to keep adding to my list. But I hate feeling out of control and that is where I am right now. I just don’t feel on top of things. Then again, maybe I should get used to that with another child on the way. After this weekend, I am just waiting for Quinn to get here, period. That an trying to endure the heat!! Seriously, folks – I am sweating bullets in the shade at 10:30am…..

Fun with Daddy
Because Chris is such an excellent photographer, he takes most of the Tyler shots and hence is in very few. While he and Tyler were playing in Inks Lake out in Burnet, TX, I managed to grab Chris’ camera and get some great shots of the two of them. With Father’s Day around the corner, I wanted to post this one.

Cute, Cute, Cute
We got Tyler some thermal clothing to keep him warm at night when we were in the Guads. They did indeed keep him nice and toasty and he enjoyed running around in them. We also tortured him and got this great fleece hat. Thankfully, he actually wore it! Here is a pic of him trying to figure out the walkie talkie in his cute cold-weather mountain gear!

I have Tyler’s music class CD on in his nursery. He is sitting on the floor “reading” a book right in front on the radio. I can hear him babbling away. He has been talking up a storm the last few days. It is soooo cute!
Did I mentioned that he burped the word “sunscreen” yesterday? Burpred while trying to tell me about “sunscreen” – his Daddy was so proud.
Should nap today, but now I am freaking out about the state of my home and that this baby might come any day…..{sigh}… I am sure I will be pooped by naptime though and will do the sensible thing.
So last night was crazy false labor or something. Tyler woke up and nursed around 1am and then set off another bought I think. By the time things settled down and I was back to sleep, the cat decided to get up on the bed and meow at Tyler waking him again for another hour. His diaper was really wet, so I am sure he would have awaken at some point – still the cat and I haven’t spoken this morning.
Anyway, we are off to the park to play with our friends this morning…and I am making a pit stop at Starbucks FOR SURE! Thank you Suzanne for the gift certificiate – I hope you don’t mind if I use a little before Quinn gets here.

So around 10:15pm, I was feeling wierd. Having cramps up front and pain in my lower back and having that have to go to the bathroom feeling. Dunno – and hour later it seems like it has subsided although my back still hurts. I now realize that I had the easiest time last time. There was no Braxton-Hicks contraction, no strange sensations – my body just went into labor and birthed a baby. I think of friends who had a few hours of contractions that went nowhere. How awful to think you are about to have a baby and then to have it all peter out. After nine months, it is cruel for your body to do that to you. I was getting pretty excited, but now and thinking it is just one of those things that I will experience for the next few weeks. Evil, I tell you. Then again, do I want this to be labor? Do I want my baby born on 6/6/06? Actually Chris liked it because both our kids would be born on double days – 11/11 and 6/6.
Dunno. Anyway, I need to finish painting my toenails. Was so excited to put on this new splashy color I treated myself to only to drop the bottle and break it spilling nail polish all over the bathroom floor. That wasn’t fun to clean up. The grout still looks like crap.
OK, off to bed… {sigh} ..yeah, a bit disappointed, but what can you do?
