Ug - well Chris came down with the flu this week. I am fighting something off - don’t know what it is. Thankfully, our beautiful baby remains healthy. Such an awful time for us to be sick. Tyler starts daycare next week and I return to work 5 days a week. There is a big conference in town next week and I need to be in the office to demo some software. I hope that I can fight this bug off…
Laying Low
As a result, we gathered some stuff at the store on Friday and are just hanging out here at home eating, watching movies and resting. We are hoping we will both feel better Monday…
Hope you all are fairing better - take care.

Here I am taking an break from work….most of the guys are out to lunch with a client and I am at a stopping point with what I am doing.
Illness Be Gone!
Chris came down sick last night. Guess he picked up what has been going around. At Dell, I am not surprised. When it comces to illness, that place is as bad as a daycare. Everyone passes everything around. My greatest hope is that the baby doesn’t pick it up. I am optimistic as a friend recently came down with the flu and her 2.5 month-old escaped it. My parents have baby-duty this week, so they are taking care of Chris and the baby!
Nothing like a Mommy..
I don’t think I ever thought I would love having my Mom around this much. Dunno, I guess when your life is going through a big change, there is nothing like a Mom to bring calm and emphasize that everything will be okay. She is also good about giving me a verbal slap upside the head when I start panicking (which I do a lot… :-p). This must be deja veau for my Mom - Tyler’s temperment at this time resembles mine. Yes, we have me to thank for the temper tantrums……
Always the best man, never the groom NO MORE! Congrats to Charles!
We must send a congratulations to Charles who popped the question to his lovely lady Laura yesterday. Word on the street is that she said YES! Chris was blessed with taking pictures of the proposal set up. Chris reported that is was quite nauseating and that Charles’ was to turn in his man card! Of course, this coming from a man who lost his man card ages ago. Sounds like you did a wonderful job Charles! Congratulations!
Well, I need to get my work done so I can get out of here. Everyone is at home and I am at work - not as much fun! Take care!

Hey there -
Well, it is President’s Day and I have the day off work. Chris thinks he is coming down sick - I hope not. Or at least hope it stays with him and Tyler and I don’t pick it up. I need to go out today and get him some zinc and orange juice.
This weekend was nice. Yesterday we hung out with Chris’ friends from the Vincera days. They are like family to us and it is always great to spend time with them. We are all starting to enter the kid phase (Ashish and Shalini have been there for a while) which is nice. We know they will be sticking around as friends and not running for the hills when they see us coming!
Chris and I were chatting about a 2nd child. Chris said he could see having just one. Of course, evaluating whether or not to have a second child with a 3 month-old is a bit premature. I think the thing that freaks him out the most is the loss of free time. Watching our friends with a 5 and 3 year-olds, I don’t know how you can lead much of a life outside your kids. I don’t have a problem with that - it just takes a bit of an adjustment. Actually, we wanted to figure out a way to bottle of the kids energy - it would kick Red Bull’s butt anyday…
Tyler is really starting to discover his feet. If he is in a decent mood in the carseat, he usually is looking down staring at them. He moves them around just amazed. His hands are merely sucking props at this point in time. He hasn’t figured out the hands yet. He also rolls from his side to his back or tummy depending on where momentum takes him.
He is getting big and will be starting daycare next Monday. Mommy is still worried about it, but I guess this is just something everyone goes through with daycare. Well, he is still asleep, so I am going to try and grab a shower while I can. Take care!

New Tyler Pics! Chris added another page with pictures from Christmas. In other news, Tyler got to meet his Aunt Laura-Cat from Seattle this past weekend. He took to her immediately!! We weren’t surprised one bit. Laura, it was great to see you!!
Well, up before Tyler so I have been running around trying to get some things done. I will be returning to work 5 days a week in two weeks. I must say that I will miss working part-time. The main thing I will miss are hanging out with my Mommy friends. On nice days, we would go have lunch with our babies and then take hour walks around Zilker. The babies snoozed and we chatted.
Chris and I are doing well and are starting to figure out the division of labor. I think that is the one drawback to breastfeeding - I have a pair and Chris doesn’t. It gives him a disadvantage when taking care of Tyler. He has to be very creative and tolerable of Tyler - he is a demanding child. When he doesn’t get what he wants (usually to suck on Mommy) - that temper flairs up. We have me to thank for that piece of him…..
So Austin is going into Seattle mode for the next week….7 days of clouds and rain - most of it light, annoying rain. That means no many walks outside - and my house will smell of wet dog. Urg.. time to light lots of candles.
Speaking of - I have new favorite candles. I used to and still do love Votivo - the Deep Clover rock. I have found these new candles Aroma Naturals. They are made from all natural ingredients and I think smell pretty good. The votivo is still stronger - but these do a good job of permeating a room if left to burn for a few hours.
Alright, Tyler will be up soon, so I need to go. Will try to blog as often as I can.

Hey there -
I have one quick sec, but wanted to say - please don’t give up on me. It isn’t that I don’t want to blog - I do. It is that time right now is so precious. My little on is not one for naps, so when he does take one - I have to focus on what really MUST get done. Cooking dinner, paying bills, trying to return a phone call here and there.
Soon Tyler will be in daycare….and while that scares me - at the same time it allows for some semblance of a routine. Although routines can be mundane to some, for me they mean survival. A baby doesn’t understand routines in the beginning, so we have just been flying by the seat of our pants along with Tyler. Daycare will help with routines. Oh, and tt only scares me in that I hope he doesn’t cry a lot. That will just kill me. I like the facility and the caregivers - I just hope that Tyler warms up quickly to the place.
Well, I have to get back to work. Take care and thanks for you patience with me!
