So I need to get better about blogging! Things have been pretty busy during the holidays and after. We enjoyed a break during the madness when we journeyed to Houston to attend the Goldsmith / Elam wedding. The Goldsmiths have been family friends as long as I can remember and since my whole family and several family friends were in attendance, it was a blast! My parents, Bryan and Lorena and I (as Chris pointed out in the comments, he was there too.. ;-p) enjoyed margaritas at Pappasito’s one night and ate at Churasco’s the next (an amazing gourmet South American food restaurant).

For Christmas we headed down to San Antonio to spend time with our parents. We went down to the Riverwalk to see the lights which is something I hadn’t done in years. I forgot how beautiful they were! Things went well for the most part – I think that the whole holiday season had me a bit stressed out which hindered my full enjoyment of it. But it was nice – my parents house looked fabulous as usual with a bit of Christmas spirit tucked in every nook and cranny.

Today is a day for work. I am trying to get my contract work wrapped up. As always with coding – everything takes longer than you think it will. In other exciting news, I am heading down to Austin Community College on Monday to sign up for my 1st woodworking class – I am so psyched about it! Well…that is the update for now…until next time.

Chris and I joined Charles and several others Tuesday at midnight to see Lord of the Rings The Two Towers! It was AWESOME! Chris and I brought chocolate-covered espresso beans to make sure everyone remained wired. Chris took Wednesday off to sleep in, which we did! Wednesday was a nice break from the holiday rush as we took the dogs hiking in Emma Long Park in West Austin. I had never been there. It is beautiful! You feel like you are miles away in the Hill Country, but you are right in Austin. Chase had the best doggie day of his life thus far as we let him run off the leash. He was splashing around in all the creeks! We then ate at Ski Shores and relaxed the rest of the day. Very nice and much needed!

Last night Chris and I went to Georgetown to see the Georgetown Opry and the Texas Elvis Explosion. It was my first time seeing live Elvis impersonators! Some were really good and others were really bad! :-p The local band played live for the “Elvi”. It was hilarious! Afterwards, we headed to the “Down the Alley” bistro next to the theatre for coffee and hot chocolate. All in all a very nice night!

We have also begun decorating for Christmas. Lots of fun! I am trying to get everything done EARLY so I can really enjoy this holiday season. In other news, I have a small contract that I will be starting tomorrow! Yeah, work!! I am really excited. Working and earning money, as wierd as it sounds, is something I think I took for granted! Anyway, that is all for my first post. Chris and I shall be posting frequently, so bookmark our site and visit often! See you soon!
